Yeah, that helps.
I was reading my Traveling Woman chart all wrong. Oh so very wrong. I had read somewhere, sometime ago that you read knitting charts from Right to Left, Bottom to Top. Following the same direction as when you knit which makes sense. Well, I either didn’t read the next part, or forgot it completely when it said that right side rows go from right to left and wrong side rows go left to right.
This completely explains why I had too many edge stitches on one side and not enough edge stitches on the other. I ended up increasing and decreasing when the pattern didn’t call for it. And my shawl suffered for it.
I have since started over the lace part, and so far so good. I’m on row 7 of my second repeat of Chart A. Should finish this up by the end of the week.
