I’ve yet to block my “I’m 33 Shawl”. I’m waiting for the weekend, that
way I can use the spare bed and muck around with it while the kid’s
awake. And Sister will be here to make sure he doesn’t try to eat the
bicycle chain, as he’s been known to do. {Guest bed + bike rack + crib
= one room}
Anyway, glad to be finished with it. I loved knitting this. The yarn is
so so lovely. The pattern was challenging enough to keep me interested,
but not so hard I wanted to throw it across the room. I can see how
blocking will improve the look of the shawl. After I exclaimed,
“Finally Finished!” the other night, JJ looked at me and was like, “Um,
what is it?” As you can see from the photo, its looking pretty
shapeless.
Lessons Learned:
* Keep it loose during the bind off.
* Expensive yarn is sooooo worth it.
* ssk
* k2tog
* blocking
