I have a skein of Berroco Ultra Alpaca in my stash. Just one. So,
looking on Ravelry to find a pattern appropriate. I was looking for
something relatively quick, but something I’d actually wear. And since
I only bought one skein (really? I now know better) it’d have to be
something kinda small. And stash… well, don’t let that word fool you.
My stash is a shoebox sized plastic container with 4 balls of yarn in
it.
Debated between the Darkside Cowl and the Noble Cowl and in the end the
Noble Cowl won. I like the slouchy-ness of it. The pattern calls for
size 6 needles, but I’m using size 8. I also cast on 30 less stitches
(2 pattern repeats) and we’ll see how that goes.
The alpaca feels … scratchier, but I did just finish knitting with
cashmere. I’m using dpns… which is taking some getting used to. I’ve
already dropped some stitches off the ends *sigh* Out of practice.
Anyway, here’s the link to my Ravelry project page.
Lessons Learned:
- knitting lace on dpns
- don’t buy just one ball of yarn
