garlic + nutmeg

August 18, 2010

garlic + nutmeg, originally uploaded by Five Baht Elephant.

Bah! I felt like taking a photo tonight. Of course, Miles is in bed, so no photo of him. I’m still sweaty from the gym {it’s 9:30pm and I still haven’t showered}, so no self-portrait of moi.

I’m really wanting to do a 365 album. Or at least see how far I get on the ‘take a photo a day’ thing. So, it might just be a 123 album. It’d be pretty cool if I could take a photo a day for 123 consecutive days.

What I’m really wanting to do is design and create my own templates in Photoshop and then populate those templates with my own photos and make my very own album. That’s what I’m really wanting to do. I want to learn design and have registered at the local community college. I’m working towards a web design certificate…what I’ll do with that, who knows. Probably nothing in the near term. However, I’m quite excited to really get to know photoshop. And Illustrator. These would be the first two classes I’m taking.

All this ramble and lets just get back to this photo. I was really wanting to take a photo, and I ended up at the refrigerator. Specifically my magnetic spice holders.

And garlic + nutmeg were sitting next to each other.

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
