Some days its easier than others. To get out and run I mean. Saturday was one of those easier-than-other mornings. Heart rate monitor + gps = technological motivation.
The first mile through my new-ish neighborhood. Crossed the street and ran on the boulevard or median or whatever that green area is called between the lanes. Older neighborhood = large trees = shade. I do love the sunshine, but for a long run, that i started mid-morning… I’ll take the shade.
An August morning and I was joined by a number of other runners. Some with their dogs. Walkers were out too.
Fresh cut grass.
Still damp, post-sprinkler.
Caked mud on my ankles.
According to my Garmin, I was keeping a steady 10 something per mile. According to my legs, the pace felt much, much slower.
