All Is Right With The World

January 12, 2011

Because I have finally printed my daily labels.

20110111-untitled-11.jpg

A few years ago, I read Getting Things Done by David Allen, and that book changed my life.

I took this template from another GTD-er, and changed it to fit me. I had been meaning to reprint them, as I had run out awhile ago. But with the move, I couldn’t find the box holding the blank address labels. I use these in my moleskine to mark the beginning of a new day. List my top 3 priorities for the day. Mark off how much water I drink throughout the day.

And everyone at work makes fun of me for “being so organized”, but really, they’re just jealous. You know, because I

Get.
Things.
Done.

    I’m a list maker myself, and have passed the habit to my oldest son. A person with a list always has a plan to fall back on. Good for you for narrowing it down to three goals per day!

    I was once super organized as a manager of a hectic business, not so much in my personal life. I clicked the link to Amazon and spent 30 min reading the book excerpt. I’m totally getting this book, or at least googling enough to learn more about the GTD system. I’ve been contemplating using a moleskin for a while as well, might have to do that soon.

    I make lists… and then lose them! I am sure all your coworkers are really jealous!

    Love the perspective of that shot. Good for you for being so organized. I make lists, but rarely acutally finish everything on them. 🙂

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
