Today the plan called for 8 miles.
And by golly, I did it.
8 miles in 1:22:19 which puts my average moving pace at 10:17 per mile. Which is just about right on my target pace for a long run (10:20 per mile if you were wondering). I am following this {3-Day Half Marathon Training Plan at Runner’s World.com} using my recent RMRR TR race time to calculate my training paces.
I am not sure what my fastest half-marathon time was; I’m thinking it was the one I ran when I was stationed in Korea. I remember running that one really quickly – hit the 7 mile mark in under an hour. My fastest Colorado half-marathon was one I did in 2008 and I squeaked in under 2 hours (1:58ish). I don’t think my fitness is quite there yet, so for the race in May, I’m shooting for a 2:09 finish time. I don’t particularly like speed work, but I do like that this plan only requires 3 days of running a week.
8 weeks to go!

I admire your fortitude and dedication. I ran when I was in my 20s, but never a marathon. I concluded that I enjoyed long walks, hiking, and riding a bike better, so running stopped.
