Yay! They’re Here!

Moo!

Business/calling cards have been on my “to procure” list for awhile now. I knew that I’d send them to the fun folks at moo to print them.  I also knew that I’d design my own cards.  (Though moo does has an awesome user interface, and you can create cards and what not directly on their website.)

Moo provide templates for a bunch of imaging programs, so I downloaded the Adobe Illustrator one to start.  About a year ago, I took an Adobe Illustrator course at my local community college just for fun, and one of our final projects was to create a logo.  (That logo is the one you see on my blog header over on the left!) I took the elephant image, added text and a gradient background.  Once I had the basic card finished, I saved a pdf copy and changed the background colors saved another pdf copy … repeat for the rest of the colors.  It was fun designing my own cards!  And I’m not even a real designer!

I think they turned out great.  The paper is nice and thick; colors are awesome too.

    🙂 They tuned out nicely! Great way to put your skills to use! I’d like to get some cards for myself to use as mommy cards AND for sharing my sewing. I’m intrigued by your CC Adobe Illus. course! Great idea!!!

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
