Project Life….DIY

November 1, 2011

I love the concept of Project Life, however, I’m not exactly all that excited about the choice of colors in the pre-made kits.   (Sorry Becky, they are nice and all, but I know J won’t go for it.)  Well, I decided to make my own.  I’ve been in a diy kind of mood lately. Recently, I’ve made my own laundry soap and lotion bars.  Oh, and a flash diffuser too.  More on those later.

Back to my project.

I bought a 12×12 Binder and some divided pocket pages from Amazon, which should arrive in a few days.  Today, I bought a Basic Gray paper pack from a scrapbook store and a corner rounder.  I spent a bit of time trimming the paper into 4×6″ and 3×4″ sizes and then rounding the corners, just because I think they look better rounded.  I might round the corners of the photos too, we’ll see.

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
