WIP:: Yoga Socks

November 26, 2011

This project is coming along pretty quickly!

WIP::Yoga Socks

I was browsing Hobby Lobby and saw this free pattern hanging near the sock yarn.  They look fun, and I immediately thought of my sister.  Carol is a serious yoga student, going to probably 6 classes a week.  When she does a down dog, her heels touch the floor.  And she can do headstands and backbends.

When I finished the honey cowl, I cast on for these.  I’m using the yarn I originally bought for a mystery KAL (knit along) but didn’t keep up with the knitting along.  Oops.

I’m just about done with one yoga sock.  The pattern is fun and interesting.  Not too difficult.  I like how they’re looking so far.

What’s on your needles?

    Wow your sister sounds like she loves her yoga. I’ve only just started again recently with my hubby and I really love going but I think it will be a while before I become flexible:) Very pretty yarn you are using, your sister will love her socks. I’m not much of a knitter but I love to crochet and at the moment I’ve still got a ripple blanket there waiting for me to finish but it’s a bit hot to crochet wool at the moment or that’s my excuse anyway;)

    I came her to check out your summary of Nov, but caught a glimpse of this post. That yarn is gorgeous. And these are going to be terrific socks. I haven’t tried knitting socks yet. Working with 4 dpns kinda scares me. But I’ll try soon. You look like a sock pro. Any tips?

    Oh, and your Nov sounds like it was very successful.

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
