I know, I know. Its been weeks it seems since I’ve sewn anything. And my blogging has been pretty sporadic and sparse lately. I blame work, really. Its been sucking the life out of me lately. We’re in the middle of three complex projects with little room for delays in any of the schedules. The stress isn’t unmanageable and I’m trying to keep focused. I’ve had little time for fun lately.
I carved out some time this weekend for sewing. I’ve been meaning to make a baby gift for my friend. I’ve been thinking about it for months actually…I thought maybe a quilt, but she said she had plenty of blankets. I settled on making a diaper carrier – I know that I love using one. I never seem to carry a diaper bag, just throw a bunch of diapers and wipes in whatever bag I’m carrying.
I love how this turned out!
I used noodlehead’s tutorial and the pouch came together super super quickly. I dug through my stash and settled on this fun, bright zoo dotty print with a dark brown lining/contrast. I used regular cotton batting and made a fabric strap as I didn’t have any cotton webbing. Or maybe I do, but can’t find it. Is it just me, or do other people misplace stuff in their sewing/hobby spaces too?
