WIP Wednesday || Glam Garland Guest Quilt

October 3, 2012

My guest room quilt pin-basted and ready for me to quilt.

Making the quilt sandwich probably took me longer than it should.  Let me go ahead and blame my 3 year old 🙂 Though I’m sure he really just wanted to help.  He thought stomping all over the top and scrunching the layers was fun.

I also finally connected my remote trigger to my camera. I’ve had this thing for months, still in the package.  It works great! So much easier to take self portraits than using the built in self timer!  In addition to immediate shutter release, it also has a 2 second and 10 second delay built in the trigger.

And of course Miles kept wanting to push the button. As a result, I have way too many photos of the wall.

Back to the quilt.  I’m not sure when I’m going to get to finishing this thing.  My non-work time is pretty full these days.  Family, exercise.  I’ve been using my limited hobby-time making our vacation photobook.  Its my priority right now. I’d like to get that thing done while the memories are still fresh.

What are you working on?

    Love the quilt. That’s quite a project! You need to post a photo when you finish it!

    Looks like a wonderful quilt. Takes me years to get a quilt done. And I have a remote I bought from a friend with a bunch of other stuff months ago, and still haven’t gotten it out and figured out how to make it work.

    I commend your drive to even attempt a quilt with a toddler – shucks, I wouldn’t even try that with a teenager (and 3 cats). Would love to see this when it is done.

    I love my remote clicker but would never dare to hand it over to my little guy!! LOL!

    I had to chuckle, because my toddler loves to stand or sit on my “kwits”. I love seeing your little guy’s jammies in the picture!

    The quilt is wonderful! I love those soft colors!

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
