You wouldn’t think this month was busy based on my one and only blog post for the month, but it really was.
Books: Dark Places and Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I’ve read all of her books now, and I enjoyed them all. Sharp Objects I think is my favorite though. And Gone Girl my least. I also read The Snow Child, which was absolutely beautiful. A few “classics” thrown in: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, and I’m still reading Casino Royale by Ian Flemming.
Movies: Argo and Skyfall both with my sister. We love us some Bond.
Girls Trip to Vegas: Ohmygoodness we had a great time. We saw a show (TFDU), where we laughed so hard and smiled so much that my cheeks hurt. And my friend Nicole scored last minute, cheap tickets to Daniel Tosh for Saturday night. She also scored a killer deal on a suite at the Venetian. I don’t know how Nicole does it, but she’s pretty skilled at finding deals.
Gifts: I whipped together these two scarves for my friends. They love them. (I love them!) I am almost done with these awesome slippers for JJ too – in Gator blue and orange. I want a pair for myself!
Purchases: JJ and I invested (that’s what the saleslady said at Bed Bath and Beyond) in really nice cookware. We feel like grown ups. We also sold all of JJ’s leather furniture and bought a new sofa for the living room.
Running: I’m trying to transition to forefoot running and bought these crazy minimalist running shoes. I don’t want any injuries, so I’m taking things slow. Its like learning to run all over again. And I’m sore in spots I didn’t realize could get so sore (hi calves!). I’m also trying to run a mile a day between Thanksgiving and New Years. I missed 4 days due to a horrible head cold, but I’m back on track.
Thanksgiving: It was just the four of us: JJ, me, Carol and Miles. I cooked pretty much the entire meal. Turkey. Dressing. Green bean casserole. Pumpkin Pie with Bourbon Whipped Cream (yum). Carol did the sweet potatoes and JJ baked some macaroni and cheese. We ate for days. Days.
Christmas decorating: Yup. The tree went up. We hung stockings. Lights are lit. Its festive ’round here!

Wow! It does sound like you had a busy November. Those scarves are really lovely. With you on the Bond – thought Skyfall was fab! I’ve recently given away ‘Dark Places’ as I started it and it was looking to be a bit *too* dark for me! Haven’t read any Agatha for a while, thanks for reminding me. I shall choose one on my next library trip! I just love disappearing into the era…
I’m still eating leftovers! Yum!
