Sunday Sewing

March 3, 2013

*sigh* toddlers

Miles just cannot leave me alone, especially when I’m trying to do something. He likes to get right in front of me while walking through the store.  He wants to get up on the countertop while I’m cooking dinner or prepping his breakfast.  And right now, I’m typing this blog post and he’s sitting on my lap.

Yes, he’s squirmy and he sometimes always gets in the way, but secretly I love it. I know that one day he’ll be too big to sit on my lap.  Or he won’t want to.  So right this second I’ll take the occasional kick in the crotch and his bony butt on my lap.

This morning, while Miles eats his breakfast, I got to work on this month’s Sugar Block.  I didn’t get too far, even with the Sesame Street videos playing.

Sunday Sewing

After letting Miles run off some energy, I finished up the “Forget Me Not” block.  It was easy to put together. And I’m getting better at piecing too – all my points are still there!  I can’t really say the same for my January or February blocks.

    I love the colors you have going in the block. Such a cutie your boy is!!

::The Name::

Five Baht Elephant. My mother is from Thailand, where elephants are royal animals. Growing up Mom would tell us to save our pennies, "in case a man came to our door selling elephants." At the time we thought it was the most absurd thing ever. Now I realize it was the Thai version of saving for a rainy day. Lets hope that we can buy an elephant for only five baht!
