Despite that these leggings look like ass, I do have a plan for the next pair. And then the next. Really, these are so easy to sew together, I’m planning on making a bunch.
I spent a few hours on Saturday learning how to draft a pattern based on my own measurements. I learned it from Christina at the class she teaches at Fancy Tiger. If you are in the Denver area, and you want to make your own leggings, you should take her class. She’s thorough, she’s fun. She also helped me tweak my pattern so that they’ll fit the next go around.
In my opinion, however, the real flaw in these leggings is in the fabric. Next time I’m going to go with a knit that has four-way stretch instead of two-way stretch. Then I can make them smaller (adjust for negative ease
in pattern drafting lingo) and they will be more form fitting.
