I managed to get just a little bit of sewing in this weekend.
I’m working on a baby quilt. I didn’t want to think this through too much; I’m using the same pattern from the other baby quilt I made. And I didn’t want to use any of the fabric I have on hand, so I picked up a charm pack (Parisville by Tula Pink) and a deep eggplant solid for the sashing.
I’ve got most of the top pieced together. I still have yet to choose the backing and the binding. But once the top is all together pretty, it’ll be easier to choose. I’m not experienced enough to really choose it all at once.
I’ve done a few of these swaps before, and I like them. Its fun to make something for a total stranger knowing someone is making something for you. The theme of this swap is “circles and curves” and my partner shares my sewing/quilting aesthetic. Modern prints. Bold color. Linen. My challenge is coming up with a design or plan. Once I laid out the fabric squares (from another charm pack, Kumari Gardens collection) something came to mind. After my partner receives it, I’ll post a finished photo.
